Zero emissions within the next 30 years
The goal by 2050: Zero Emissions. This was the slogan of the DPDHL Group 2017 celebration which was attended by numerous guests from politics and business.
This time the unused tunnel of the subway line 3 at Potsdamer Platz was the event location. The tunnel contains a piece of the original Berlin Wall which is why an event at this historic border is a statement in itself. 30 years ago this appeared just as impossible as emission-free transport logistics today. So, another 30 years until green zero sounds like a promising aim. A goal, which was also reflected through the 2 meter high exhibit on the central stage.
According to our motto “We bring brands to life” our event production breathed new life into the empty subway tunnel.
“Experience Marketing”
We installed an ivy curtain in the entrance area, which served as a symbolic gateway to the location. In accordance with the “Go Green” campaign design, we incorporated an ivy leaf into the key visual. The Key Visual was implemented in the presented information, which was made available through various communication devices, and the design of the experience areas.
Through additional design elements we further developed the graphic collection of the campaign and arranged these into large-format murals. For example, the key visual served as the background of the stage as well as for the presentation of the exhibits of the DPDHL Innovation Centre, whose contribution to the climate goal was illustrated with graphics.
In the presence of Thomas de Maizière, Federal Minister of the Interior, and former Federal President Joachim Gauck, Dr. Frank Appel, Chairman of the Board, paid tribute to the performance of the deliverers who already pedal hard and steadily to achieve the climate goals.
In order to demonstrate the power transmission of the new bicycle fleet, the DPDHL Innovation Center provided a pedal-driven generator that showed the guests exactly how much energy can be saved by using one’s own muscle power in combination with modern drive technology. A Carrera miniature model which presented all mobility solutions and an area that provided insights into the future of logistics by means of virtual reality applications were also provided for a playful approach to the subject of e-mobility.
Regarding the catering we also relied on regionally organic products in order to corroborate the message.
