The opening ceremony of the Festival of Lights “Berlin Lights”
On the wasteland of a former freight station an unmistakable piece of urbanity is created. The Europa City in Berlin; within walking distance of the main railway station and surrounded by political and cultural institutions.
With the desire to bring the location more into the public eye, the location community of the Europa City asked us to organize an event for autumn 2018. We took this wish literally by transforming the many construction cranes of the large construction site into colorful shimmering lighthouses.
The result was the perfect setting for a light production to host the opening ceremony of the Festival of Lights “Berlin Lights” – the multi-day Festival of Lights of the City of Berlin with over 2 million visitors.

With the approval of the Berlin Association “Berlin Lights” e. V. and the associated embedding in the public relations work, the Europa City was made visible to the Berlin population for the first time, which made not only the local community but also the mayor shine.
